Jevtana is used in conjunction with Prednisone for metastatic prostate cancer therapy.
Jevtana is an injection and it is usually given in a healthcare institution. Do not make any changes regarding the dosage or your treatment schedule without your Doctor?s advice. If you miss Jevtana injection, contact your medical advisor for the further instructions. In case of overdose call for emergency medical help.
Your blood will be analyzed on a regular basis to monitor your WBC counts.
Before starting therapy with Jevtana, inform your medical advisor if you are allergic to any drug, show your medical history, tell about all over-the-counters, herbs and vitamins you take. Also let your Doctor know if your age is 65 or older because in this case you are in a heightened danger of having serious side effects that can result to death.
Jevtana can get into body fluids so people who contact with them should use rubber gloves. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after removing the gloves. Wash contaminated cloths and linens apart from the rest. A pregnant woman should not handle body fluids.
Both male and female should not conceive a child/get pregnant during the whole period of treatment with Jevtana. Use contraceptives while taking the drug and for not less than 8 weeks after you finish the therapy. Do not take the drug if you breastfeeding.
Inform your healthcare provider if you experience any symptoms of: allergic reaction (rash/itching, redness of your skin, giddiness, trouble breathing, chest/throat tightness, face swelling); serious problems with stomach and intestine (vomiting/diarrhea, severe pain in stomach-area, stool retention, high temperature, stool with blood or changed color of your stool); kidney failure (face/body swelling, less urination than usually).
